The Alliance

Breakaway Springs Park Alliance was formed on September 16, 2026 as a Texas unincorporated nonprofit association organized under Chapter 252 of the Texas Business Organizations Code. Its stated purpose is “to preserve Breakaway Springs Park as publicly accessible open space; protect public and neighborhood access, trails, recreational use, and environmental and drainage functions; and oppose, through lawful advocacy, public participation, research, negotiation, administrative proceedings, and litigation when appropriate, any sale, conversion, or private residential development that conflicts with those goals.”

The Alliance is organized to benefit the public and the community generally. No part of its funds may go to any member. Its founding members are Chris Stephens, Kevin Sanford and Zak White, who manage it by majority vote and keep complete books of every contribution and expense.

Contributions or gifts to Breakaway Springs Park Alliance are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes.

How we work

We publish documents, not accusations. Everything on this site links to a recorded instrument, a set of minutes, or a record released under the Texas Public Information Act, and we try to quote rather than characterize. Where we are relying on a neighbor’s recollection rather than a document, we say so. Where a question is still open, we say that too.
