Support the Alliance

Breakaway Springs Park Alliance was formed by neighbors on September 16, 2026 to preserve the park. Online giving opens as soon as the Alliance's account is set up.

What contributions are used for

  • Legal counsel to evaluate and, if necessary, enforce the 1990 dedication.
  • Public records requests, copies, and the cost of obtaining and publishing the record.
  • Engineers and other professionals when the record needs them.
  • Outreach: printing, signs, and getting the word to every household near the park.
  • A permanent conservation arrangement for the land, if the County will work with us.

How the money is handled

Under the Alliance’s governing agreement, funds may be used only for its stated purpose; every disbursement beyond small administrative amounts requires written approval of a majority of members; no member may profit; and complete books of every contribution and expense are kept. We will post a summary of contributions and expenditures on this site.

Contributions are voluntary and may be made in any amount. If the Alliance dissolves, remaining funds go to a nonprofit with a similar purpose or to a public body for a public purpose — never to members.

Contributions or gifts to Breakaway Springs Park Alliance are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. The Alliance is a nonprofit association rather than a charity; gifts support its advocacy, records work, and legal costs.
